INNS OF COURT MALAYSIA GRAND NIGHT DINNER 2025

11 January 2025 - Borneo Cultures Museum Restaurant, Kuching


Members of the legal fraternity who included judges, in-house legal counsels, lawyers and law students from Universiti Malaya and Segi College Sarawak gathered for the Grand Night Dinner at the Borneo Cultures Museum Restaurant in Kuching on 11 January 2025. It was a privilege to have been graced by Special Guest of Honour - the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar together with Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd. Sanusi and YAB Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah bin Haji Yusof together with YB Datin Sri Hajah Ruziah binti Mohd Tahir.


As the Organising Committee Chairman and member of ICM’s executive committee, our Mr Tan gave the opening address. In welcoming those who had come from beyond Sarawak, Mr Tan highlighted the racial harmony and the spirit of unity that is prevalent within the diverse races and religions of our Sarawakian community, an admirable quality that the legal fraternity can continue to adopt and benefit from.


YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof delivered a keynote address on  “Diversity and Inclusivity in Nation Building”, in which he highlighted the strength that arises from unity in diversity and the importance of embracing inclusivity in order to shape a brighter future together.


This was followed by a welcome address by the President of ICM and former Chief Justice of Malaysia YAB Tun Airifin Zakaria.


This Inns style dining evening featured multiple courses of food, accompanied by a string quartet whose resonant strings weaved through the night. Before the night ended, a stunning cake in the shape of the Kuching Courthouse was rolled out as a surprise for the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, YAA Tan Sri Dato’ Abdul Rahman bin Sebli’s 66th birthday.
