OFFICIAL LAUNCH: BEHIND THE GRAVEL

“Behind the Gavel” authored by Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat, the first female Chief Justice of Malaysia, was launched just two days after the conclusion of her distinguished judicial tenure.

Renowned for her landmark rulings, judicial wisdom, visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to justice, this book is a thoughtfully curated compilation of her trailblazing judgments and speeches spanning her illustrious career.

There to witness and support the launch of her book were newly retired President of the Court of Appeal of Malaysia the Right Honourable Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abang Iskandar bin Abang Hashim, Singapore High Commissioner to Malaysia His Excellency Mr Vanu Gopala Menon and current Federal Court and Court of Appeal Judges.

Also present was Singapore Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, who penned the forward to the book and was effusive in his praise for Tun Tengku Maimun binti Tuan Mat in his speech. 

Former Federal Court Judge Tan Sri Zainun binti Ali also shared a few words, paying tribute to the newly retired Chief Justice of Malaysia for elevating the judiciary to an unprecedented level and imbued jurisprudence with profound human insight - a sentiment widely shared.
